Studio Tour
Saturday & Sunday
October 3 - 4, 2026

In 2026 we hope to put a bit more “studio” back into the “studio tour” by having live demonstrations or examples of the artistic process.  If you are a painter, great, please put up your easel and do some live creation for visitors to see you in action.  If you have a medium that does not allow for live demonstration, perhaps you could demonstrate a part of your process or bring some examples of your work in various stages of completion.  You want to walk visitors through your creative process.

 There are many art sales these days but not so many studio tours.  The Merrickville Artists Guild Studio Tour has a long tradition of 41 years, and people look forward to it at the same time each year: the weekend before Thanksgiving.  The difference between an art show/sale is that a studio tour provides an artistic experience, so let’s give them one.

 

Regardless of cost increases, the Board is working hard to find efficiencies, so we do not have to raise the registration fee.  MAG is a volunteer-based organization, so all participants are asked to assist with the event.  The success of the Studio Tour is up to all of us.

 

Requirements 

Studios to be within 15 kilometres from Merrickville Village.

Refund minus a $20 admin fee, before July 16, 2026

NOTE REGARDING INSURANCE. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

All vendors and MAG, as the sponsor, are required to have insurance, however, do not purchase vendor insurance for the Tour until further notice.  It has come to our attention that many insurance companies that cover events will no longer cover studio tours.  For this reason, we are trying to obtain studio tour insurance for MAG that will include vendor coverage, but it is taking a lot of time. If we cannot find such coverage, vendors will be required to provide their own insurance for the Tour. We will let you know as soon as possible.

If you do not have a flag, MAG will try to provide you one to use for the Tour. All flags are to posted near the road where visitors can see it. You will be responsible for set-up & take-down of flags.

Do you have any Studio Tour signs from previous years?

If yes, display them at your location entrance. ALL flags & signs will be collected & stored at the MAG storage facility.

How will you be participating?
If you are a host, do outdoor artists need to provide their own tent?

If you are hosting other artists at your studio, please check the following:

MAG organizers will try their best to locate guest artists at their host location of choice, but no guarantees. MAG has the final decision as to where an artist will be situated. In order to avoid map directory confusion, artists may not change their location.

Which of the following volunteer tasks do you prefer? There will likely be more than one volunteer per task.

NOTE: All the volunteer tasks involving design or contracts/arrangements need Board approval.
