History
Founded in 1985

The Merrickville Artists Studio Tour began in 1985, founded by Brenda Carter after she was inspired by an arts conference in Toronto and studio tours in Holland.  She believed the idea would appeal in Merrickville.

The Heritage Merrickville Foundation helped sponsor the first four years, raising funds for restoring Knox Hall through ticket sales and art draws, while also providing a central display and promotion for the Tour.

In 1988, Verne and Audrey Weiler proposed forming the Merrickville Artists Guild.  After Knox Hall was restored in 1990, the Guild took over the annual tour - now in 2026, it is proudly celebrating 41 years of success.
